Portchain develops software (notably its flagship product Portchain Connect) that gives carriers, terminals and operational ground staff accurate real-time information to optimise schedules, reduce costs and cut environmental impact. The company says it counts a fifth of the world’s container terminal capacity in its network, with roughly 100 terminals among its clients. Major carrier Hapag-Lloyd has signed a five-year agreement to roll out Portchain Connect across its network. Portchain intends to use new capital to fuel a recruitment drive, further develop products and improve existing services. The startup was founded in 2017 and is based in Copenhagen. To date the company has raised $10 million in total.
