Postable
1180 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY, 10036, United States
Overview
Postable converts typed messages into "handwritten" notes using 12 handwriting fonts and prints them on high-quality card stock. The company launched in 2011 and began with a free, crowdsourced online address book in March 2012 that grew to "tens of thousands" of users. At the launch of its paid thank-you card product, Postable offered roughly 100 cards sourced from 24 indie designers with a revenue-sharing deal described as "double the industry standard." Users can choose from 12 handwriting and 10 stylistic fonts and select card stocks including Crane's Lettra, cotton paper, and a recycled "brown bag" option. Cards are priced at $2 plus standard postage. Postable plans to release native apps and expand styles and occasion support by the end of the year; the company has raised $500,000 from friends and family and is based in New York.
