PowerCloud Systems offers CloudCommand, an online networking-as-a-service platform that enables OEMs and service providers to integrate cloud capabilities with their wireless and wired networking equipment. The platform's initial implementations support Wi‑Fi networking, and the company says it will expand into additional networking categories in 2012. CloudCommand is aimed at delivering networking-as-a-service solutions for SMBs. The company's technology is supported by intellectual property developed at PARC, including 10 patents covering cloud-virtualized network controllers and usable security. The new capital will be used to enhance the CloudCommand platform. PowerCloud has raised approximately $10 million to date.
