PowerPhotonic designs and manufactures freeform precision optics that enhance the performance and reliability of high-power laser systems. Its optics serve customers in aerospace, defence, medical devices and semiconductor manufacturing. Headquartered in Dalgety Bay with a manufacturing facility in Arizona, the company plans to scale operations across its UK and US facilities using the new funding. Maven Capital Partners invested £2.6m in the company; this follows £2.7m previously invested by Archangels and Scottish Enterprise over the past 24 months. The funding package includes contributions from the Maven Income and Growth VCTs and IFS Maven Equity Finance, part of the Investment Fund for Scotland managed by Maven and delivered by the British Business Bank. Company leadership said the investment will open the door to cutting-edge innovation and deeper collaboration, while Maven highlighted the firm’s commercially proven technology, strong IP portfolio and experienced team as drivers of scalable global potential.
