Pplconnect is launching a private beta for a virtual smartphone platform that streams a user’s phone experience — calls, texts, stored media and basic services — to any web‑enabled device. The product currently supports Android and a web interface, with iOS support and a native app planned for the following year. Features include calling with your own number, platform‑agnostic texting that appears on multiple devices, and a “Hotel your Phone” mode that temporarily lets you use a friend’s device as your own. The founders, Jenviev Azzolin and Densil D’Sa, have been developing the product for two years after leaving Bombardier to work on the startup full time. The team emphasizes a native, tailored interface per environment and a vision to eventually make apps, calendars and other data accessible from any web browser. Pplconnect has been funded through an innovation grant and private equity to date and is raising a follow‑on to accelerate development.
