PQ Bypass develops the DETOUR percutaneous femoropopliteal bypass, a proprietary stent graft technology designed to reroute blood from the superficial femoral artery through the femoral vein to the popliteal artery to bypass long PAD blockages. The company positions the DETOUR procedure as a minimally invasive alternative intended to combine the durability of open bypass with reduced complications and recovery time. PQ Bypass is advancing the DETOUR System through the pivotal DETOUR II trial, which is enrolling up to 292 patients at as many as 40 sites across the United States and Europe. The DETOUR System received CE Mark approval in March 2017 but remains investigational and not available for sale in the United States. Management includes veterans from major medical device companies and the DETOUR technique was co-developed by recognized cardiologists. The company is using new financing to advance clinical development of the technology for treating very long lesions (>20 cm) that are challenging for angioplasty and stenting.
