Practice, formerly ApprenNet, provides a web and mobile platform that uses instructional videos and peer reviews to help organizations assess and grow employee skills. The company serves clients including Comcast, Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania and Goodwill. Practice operates with a roughly 20-person team split between Center City and San Francisco; its SF office resulted from a merger with Handsfree Learning last year. The firm recently rebranded to a simpler name, a change its cofounder said was timed to coincide with new funding. CEO Paul Freedman said the company sought investors who shared its vision. The new capital is earmarked for expansion of the sales and development teams.
