Overview
Preempt provides an Identity and Access Threat Prevention platform that preempts threats in real time based on identity, behavior and risk. Its solution enables enterprises to stop real threats before impact and ensures transactions are verified. The platform is deployed in major Fortune 500 organizations and has seen adoption in finance, retail, healthcare and legal industries. The company is led by CEO and co-founder Ajit Sancheti and CTO/co-founder Roman Blachman, and operates from San Francisco with research and development in Ramat Gan, Israel. In June 2018 Preempt raised a $17.5M Series B, bringing total funding to $27.5M. The company intends to use the funds to expand operations, accelerate product innovation and scale its go-to-market strategy. Preempt builds the Preempt Behavioral Firewall, a security product that couples User and Entity Behavior Analysis (UEBA) with Adaptive Response to detect and automatically respond to breaches and malicious insiders. The Behavioral Firewall verifies user identity and applies granular responses (block, notify, allow, re-authenticate, or multi-factor authentication) to resolve suspicious activities while maintaining business continuity. Key capabilities include interactive analytics to surface risky users, endpoints and stale or compromised accounts, a policy engine for customized adaptive controls, and flexible deployment in in-line proxy or span port (sniffer) modes. The company describes its approach as innovative and patented and emphasizes proactive, real-time preemption of threats. Preempt emerged from stealth in June 2016 and is headquartered in San Francisco with development in Israel. In April 2016 the company announced an $8 million Series A financing led by General Catalyst Partners.
