Premium Nickel Resources is a Canadian mineral exploration company that holds the Selkirk mine and surrounding prospecting licences in Botswana, targeting Ni-Cu-Co-PGM mineralisation. The Selkirk mining licence covers about 14.6 km² and four prospecting licences span 126.7 km²; Anglo American historically mined the site (1989–2002) and produced one million tonnes at 2.6% Ni and 1.5% Cu. The company acquired the Selkirk mine from the liquidator of Tati Nickel Mining Company in an agreement announced February 2022 that closed in August 2022. Premium Nickel plans to use proceeds from the financing to advance exploration and development activities at its Botswana assets and for general corporate and working capital needs. Recent financing activity indicates the company is supplementing its balance sheet via equity and an amended term loan to fund near-term work programs and operations.
