Prequel
154 W 14th St, New York, NY, US
Overview
Prequel operates a community-updated library of software failure patterns and misconfigurations for Linux workloads and ships software that continuously checks a customer’s stack against that library. The product integrates into existing stacks and flags bugs and failures earlier than traditional observability tools, with all customer data staying on-premises and the company charging a subscription for the service. Prequel launched in 2023 and had been operating in stealth until this announcement. Its technology is already deployed in a handful of Fortune 500 companies and its community network has grown to around 500 engineers. The company plans to use newly raised capital to accelerate product development and expand its detection library. Founders Tony Meehan and Lyndon Brown bring security backgrounds from the NSA and Endgame, and the team positions Prequel as complementary to data observability and monitoring vendors like Datadog and Splunk.
