PrestaShop develops open-source ecommerce software and a freemium platform for online merchants. Its core product includes the v1.6 release with a mobile app and responsive design and a marketplace of modules. The company plans to expand into ten more countries—starting with the UK and Poland—by hiring business developers and country managers and forging local partnerships. Management is negotiating with two Fortune 100 partners to enable access to extra modules at no cost to merchants. PrestaShop reports about 41,000 shops in France (roughly one third of the French market), 165,000 stores globally, a community of 600,000 members and over 3 million downloads. Revenue grew 40% to €8.5 million last year; the team includes about sixty employees in Paris and twenty in Miami.
