PreVeil
53 State Street, 12th Floor, Boston, MA, 02109, United States
Overview
PreVeil delivers cloud-based end-to-end encrypted email and file collaboration that integrates with Microsoft O365 and Google GSuite. The company uses a Zero Trust approach, encrypting messages and documents so only intended recipients — not even PreVeil — can access data, and stores encrypted data on AWS. PreVeil targets enterprises with strict compliance needs, including Aerospace & Defense and universities, and supports standards such as CMMC, NIST 800-171 and ITAR. The company reports being trusted by over 600 organizations and more than 30,000 users in the federal government ecosystem. PreVeil offers both free individual accounts and enterprise solutions and has been recognized by PC Magazine as Editor’s Choice for encrypted email and file sharing. It plans to expand into professional services, financial services and healthcare and to expose its FIPS encryption, cloud storage, sharing and messaging via open APIs for third-party developers. PreVeil offers private and protected email and file solutions for businesses, combining end-to-end encryption, distributed trust and elimination of passwords. The company recently launched PreVeil Drive, which encrypts files and lets users store, share, and access them anywhere. Its proprietary suite of encrypted solutions is based on research by Raluca Ada Popa, an assistant professor of computer science at UC Berkeley. Popa was a recent recipient of a 2018 Sloan Research Fellowship. PreVeil was co-founded by Sanjeev Verma and Randy Battat and is based in Boston, MA. The company raised an undisclosed Series A investment from Spark Capital.
