Previ is a fintech that lets users allocate portions of their paycheck to pay recurring everyday expenses and receive cash-back rewards via partner deals. It connects consumers seeking cash-back and easier payments with partners who pay Previ a fixed fee for leads; Previ returns a fixed percentage to consumers. Today Previ pays partners on behalf of consumers and says it plans to take out a debt line in the future to fund those payments. The company does not charge interest, annual fees, or late fees and says that policy will not change; if a user loses their job Previ will pull from the user’s bank account but those transactions do not receive cash-back. Founder Brandon Rodman (who started Weave) and his wife put about $2M of personal capital into the startup, and Previ also raised $6.5M late last year from outside investors. Previ is onboarding an alpha waitlist with a concierge approach and aims to enter beta before year-end; it is not yet integrated directly with employers' pay stubs. Its initial target users are tech employees roughly aged 25–40, a demographic known for credit-card rewards.
