Primitives is a web3 social network built around NFT-based interactions and a digital wallet, aiming to make crypto wallets function like social networks. Users create customizable NFT avatars called Primojis, share them via text, and friends can claim and create their own, while “moments” NFTs tie to attendance at specific events or locations. Primitives stores NFTs in a built-in digital wallet (built with a white-label API) that can also hold assets acquired outside the app, and Primoji creation is free because Primitives pre-purchases smart contracts to mint NFTs. The company is currently in beta with nine employees and plans a public launch as soon as next month; it is working on features including Ethereum wallet integration and peer-to-peer wallet messaging. Primitives envisions the wallet becoming a central hub to hold NFTs and crypto, store music, play games, and enable social interaction, and plans to monetize primarily through brand partnerships and potential royalties from a secondary market.
