Overview

Princeton Digital builds and operates server facilities and hyperscale data centres across Asia. The company secured a US$280 million green loan to help finance a US$1.5 billion data centre project in southern Malaysia, aiming to have the complex operational by June. The debt was provided by Maybank, Standard Chartered and UOB and represents Princeton Digital's first green loan. Warburg Pincus backed and helped set up the company, and Princeton Digital has said it aims to borrow US$1 billion to finance several projects. Founded in 2017 and based in Singapore, the firm develops and operates facilities in China, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Japan. In 2022 it raised more than US$500 million in a funding round led by Mubadala Investment with participation from Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board. Princeton Digital Group is an investor, developer and operator of internet infrastructure, operating a portfolio of 20 data centers with over 600MW of secured capacity across five countries. The company serves hyperscalers, internet and cloud companies, and financial institutions with scalable, reliable data center services. Headquartered in Singapore and established in 2017, PDG has presence and operations in China, India, Indonesia, Japan and Singapore. PDG plans to deepen its presence in Japan, India, Singapore, China and Indonesia and to accelerate expansion into other Asian markets. The business aims to consolidate its position as a leading pan‑Asia data center operator to capture strong regional demand driven by digitalization and hyperscale growth. The recent fundraising is positioned to support that expansion and long‑term value creation. PDG develops, operates, and invests in data centres across Asia, serving top hyperscalers, internet and cloud customers. Since its founding three years ago, the company has built a portfolio of 18 data centres across China, Singapore, Indonesia, and India. PDG has grown via acquisitions, carve-outs, and greenfield development and says it will continue that strategy in existing and new markets. The company positions itself as a pan-Asian data-centre platform targeting rapid digitalization in the region. Management emphasizes scaling the business and expanding its footprint to serve increasing regional demand for data infrastructure. The article does not disclose revenue or user metrics.
