PrismaStar, founded in 2005 and based in London, has developed a patented product-search technology for the e-commerce market. Its platform enables consumers to find products and services personalised to individual tastes by searching on multiple product specifications rather than only price or brand. The company says this approach gives shoppers the confidence to make the best decision about which product to buy. PrismaStar operates offices in Chicago, IL, and Poděbrady, Czech Republic, and plans to expand in the growing US, UK and EC online retail markets. On 23/10/2010 the company received a £2m investment from Octopus Investments. CEO Joshua Tabin said Octopus' support will help the company grow and expand the business into new markets where internet shopping is fast becoming the norm.
