PrivateCore develops secure hypervisor technology that enables private execution of virtual machines. Its software prevents service provider staff who physically own servers from bypassing protections and accessing tenant data without the owner's credentials. The technology reduces the need for physical safeguards such as guards, server cages, CCTV, biometrics, man traps and other infrastructure security elements. The company raised $2.25M in seed funding from Foundation Capital to expand its core development team with virtualization and security engineering professionals. PrivateCore is based in Menlo Park, California and was founded by Dr. Stephen Weis and CEO Oded Horovitz. Early trial users include large financial institutions and an NGO funded by the US government.
