The company specializes in proton therapy, an advanced form of radiation treatment used for a broad range of tumor types and pediatric cancers. ProCure says it is the only healthcare company in the world that has developed and is operating multiple proton centers. The recent financing will support continued development and expansion of ProCure’s network of proton therapy centers and increase patient access. Proton therapy’s precision makes it especially effective for anatomically complex tumors such as base of skull and spinal cord tumors. The company completed a $40 million private equity financing led by Maverick Capital and has previously received more than $70 million in investments led by McClendon Venture Company.
