Overview
Prodigy builds software that links a customer's online car-research and purchase flow with in-dealership sales tools so buyers can start online and finish in store. Co-founder Michia Rohrssen says consumers now visit about 1.6 dealerships (down from six) and spend roughly 18–20 hours researching before visiting, and Prodigy aims to help dealers adapt to that shift. The product includes an online sales platform for customers and iPad-based tools for salespeople, enabling a salesperson to complete an entire deal on-site with both sides synchronized. The company reworked its original online-only approach after dealers adapted its tooling on iPads and moved to a unified service to replace six to eight separate dealership systems. Prodigy has piloted the system with dealerships and reported interest from a handful of dealers. The team acknowledges that on-site deployments and educating sales staff are resource-intensive and that competition in the SaaS space is a constant risk.
