Produze builds a digital supply-chain infrastructure that handles customer acquisition, source logistics, export-import port operations and last-mile distribution to help agri-producers access international markets. The company likens its offering to “Fulfilled by Amazon” for fresh produce, aiming to reduce intermediaries and price inefficiencies that cut producer margins. Produze was founded earlier this year by Ben Mathew, Gaurav Agrawal, Rakesh Sasidharan and Y Combinator alum Emil Soman and has begun taking applications from retailers and agri-producers. The startup says it has been overwhelmed by the volume of responses. Produze has set up an office in Dubai and plans to open offices in Europe and the U.S. within the next two months, and aims to expand the platform beyond India to other producer markets. The company recently closed a $2.6M seed round led by Accel.
