Overview

Property Partner operates a London-based residential property crowdfunding platform that lets people buy, trade and sell shares of individual residential properties. Launched in January 2015 by CEO Dan Gandesha, investments into a single property typically range from £50 to £50,000. More than 6,200 customers have invested over £24m across 166 properties, with £4.7m of shares already traded on the platform. The company raised £15.9m in a Series B and has now raised £22.5m in total. The round was led by Octopus Ventures with participation from Index Ventures and Dawn Capital. Property Partner intends to use the funds to grow its customer base by developing new segments including institutional investors, introduce new products such as shared ownership, and hire additional staff. Property Partner is a residential property crowdfunding platform that enables people to invest as much or as little as they like in individual residential properties. Launched in January 2015 by CEO Daniel Gandesha, the platform currently lists properties in London and the South-East of England. Properties are selected by Director of Property Robert Weaver, formerly RBS' Global Director of Residential Investment, who previously ran a £500m residential property fund. To date, more than 1,000 people have invested through the platform, with individual investments ranging from £50 to £50k. The company intends to use the funds to create a "global stock exchange" for residential property, offering properties across the UK and beyond. In conjunction with the funding, Neil Rimer and Ed Wray will join Property Partner's board of directors. Property Partner operates a real-estate crowdfunding platform that enables users to invest from as little as £50 in UK buy-to-let properties and receive rental income. The platform also runs a secondary exchange where investors can sell their holdings through the service. It was founded by Daniel Gandesha, formerly BSkyB’s head of commercial development. At launch the company emphasized delivering better returns than low-interest bank accounts by broadening access to residential property investment. The market opportunity cited is large: UK residential property is worth over £5 trillion with buy-to-let transactions exceeding £20bn annually. Competitors in the broader real-estate crowdfunding space noted in the article include US players such as Prodigy Networks, Fundrise, and Realty Mogul.
