TicketGuardian is a Newport Beach, Calif.-based insurtech startup that offers ticket insurance through its FanShield suite to protect purchased tickets, registrations and bookings. Led by CEO and founder Bryan Derbyshire, the company enhances the attendee and fan experience by giving buyers the option to insure their tickets. TicketGuardian partners with dozens of event platforms including Provenue, Accesso Showare, Showclix and events.com to distribute its protection products. It currently powers attendee protection approximately every 45 seconds and employs about 40 people. The company said it will use the new capital to accelerate growth of its technology, products and services. To date the company has raised $13 million in total funding.
