Protego develops a security solution built for serverless environments that continuously scans functions, logs, and databases to improve application security posture. The platform uses machine-based analysis and deep learning algorithms to build a model of normal function behavior to detect threats, anomalies, and malicious attacks as they initiate and propagate. It identifies and prevents attacks in real time and aims to apply the “minimum effective dose” of protection to maximize security while minimizing costs. The company is led by CEO and co-founder Tsion (TJ) Gonen and has offices in Maryland and Israel. Protego raised $2M in seed funding to continue working with customers and partners, broaden its offering, and bring the product to market. The round was led by Ron Gula of Gula Tech Adventures, with participation from Glilot Capital Partners and the MetroSITE Group (including former RSA CTO Tim Belcher).
