ProteoNic is a Leiden, the Netherlands–based biotech company that has developed proprietary UNic™ recombinant protein yield enhancement technology. Its technology is applied in the production of industrial enzymes and biopharmaceutical proteins. The company is led by CEO Frank Pieper. ProteoNic intends to use recently raised funds to accelerate commercialization of its technology and to expand capabilities in cell line generation and contract services. The company closed a €6m equity financing to support those plans. The round was led by Fairbanks Investment Fund with participation from existing shareholders.
