Provesica is a clinical-stage company focused on developing a novel therapeutic approach to overactive bladder (OAB). Its lead product, XEN-D0501, has shown promising efficacy in preclinical models and has completed Phase 1 clinical trials. The company intends to use new funding to progress its OAB programme through to the completion of a Phase 2 trial during 2011. Provesica received a £4m equity investment from Forbion Capital Partners and Seroba Kernel Life Sciences Ltd. The company was established in November 2009 as part of the reorganisation of Xention and is based in Cambridge, UK. The financing also brought board appointments and a new chairman to support the clinical development programme.
