Proxi
3120 139th Ave SE Ste 500, Bellevue, WA, 98005, United States
Overview
Proxi began in late 2020 after founders built a crowd-sourced Halloween map and launched a free tool to quickly generate and share maps. The product is live, the site displays roughly two dozen interactive examples, and the company has three full-time employees. Proxi is used by travel writers, bloggers, influencers, community groups and a news site to create curated maps that can be embedded without an app. Founders Melinda Haughey and Chelsey Roney bring geospatial, UX and SaaS experience from roles at Accenture, Facebook, Dell and Microsoft and from a prior startup exit. The company is participating in the Seattle Techstars accelerator. To monetize, Proxi plans a subscription-based premium tier with analytics and other perks, and is building new features to support that strategy. Over the coming year the team plans to recruit creators in cities including Austin, Los Angeles and Atlanta to produce collections of maps.
