Overview

Proximie operates a centralized “Operating System of the OR” that digitally connects operating rooms and delivers preoperative data, real-time collaborative tools for recording, training and delivering care, and postoperative content management. The platform enables remote collaboration during surgery, content capture and distribution, and supports hospitals in training and clinical workflow. The company intends to use new capital to accelerate development of key products and services, build out a marketplace ecosystem and scale its Operating System of the OR. Proximie has been used in tens of thousands of surgical procedures and deployed in over 500 hospitals across 100 countries on five continents. Financially, the company completed an $80M Series C in this round and has raised $130M in total since inception. Hospitals using Proximie report applying the technology to reduce surgical backlogs after COVID-19, speed surgeon training while containing costs, and create hub-and-spoke models to concentrate expertise and reduce travel time and expense. Proximie provides a platform that combines human expertise with augmented reality (AR), machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced telecommunications to create a network of digitised operating and diagnostic rooms. The platform captures, digitises, catalogues and analyses every surgical interaction to support remote collaboration and clinical insight. Founded by Dr. Nadine Hachach-Haram in 2016, the company has seen rapid growth over the prior 12 months. Proximie has conducted over 10,000 surgical interactions across 300 hospitals in more than 40 countries. The company plans to expand its commercial presence in the U.S. and European markets and to implement new technologies while continuing research and development. The raise is intended to support those expansion, technology implementation and R&D efforts.
