PSPDFkit builds developer-facing SDKs and APIs for document processing features such as e‑signing, document viewing and editing, collaboration and markup. The company began around 2011 and is run as a distributed operation with a main R&D base in Vienna, Austria. Its technology is embedded across many popular apps and is approaching 1 billion users in 150 countries. PSPDFkit has been profitable for some time and this is its first outside investment. The company plans to use the funding to build more developer tools, pursue strategic acquisitions to expand its suite, and make a concerted push into sales and marketing. Co‑founders Peter Steinberger and Martin Schürrer are stepping away from full‑time roles but remain significantly invested; CEO Jonathan Rhyne will stay on.
