PulPac
Amalia Jönssons Gata 16, Göteborg, Vastra Gotaland, SE-421 31, Sweden
Overview
PulPac develops a dry-molding process for cellulose aimed at creating alternatives to single-use plastics across beverages, pharmaceuticals and food. The company has spent seven years bringing the process to market and works with large packaging firms as partners. To date, no cellulose packaging made with its dry-molding technique has been produced at large scale. The €20 million financing from the European Investment Bank is intended to accelerate PulPac’s research and development, with particular focus on food packaging. Planned R&D objectives include improving material efficiency, optimizing packaging performance, and increasing the company’s competitiveness. The funding could serve as a launchpad for wider commercial deployment of PulPac’s technology.
