Pulpos
Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico
Overview
Pulpos provides a cloud-based POS and management platform that enables independent retailers to manage inventory, costs, margins, expiries, digital storefronts and suppliers through familiar communication channels like WhatsApp. The company builds tools for centralized inventory management, product catalogs with personalized links, and features to track informal credit and transaction cycles common among Mexican SMEs. Pulpos validated its model with a study of more than 5,000 merchants and over one million messages, finding high usage of cash and direct credit between merchants and customers. Founded in 2023, Pulpos serves over 5,000 active sellers concentrated in Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara and plans physical offices in those cities for localized support. The startup is integrating AI agents to automate customer interactions, debt reminders, receipt issuance and inventory updates to improve operational visibility for small merchants. Financially, Pulpos raised a US$4 million seed in April 2024 led by Andreessen Horowitz and has now secured an additional US$5 million led by Dalus Capital.
