Overview
Founded in 2021 by Kazi Ashikur Rasul and Arefeen Raafi Ahmed, PulseTech tackles Bangladesh’s rampant counterfeit medicine issue by sourcing drugs directly from manufacturers and delivering them to pharmacies via its Medbox platform. The company complements ordering with inventory and order-management software and arranges embedded inventory credit by linking pharmacies with financial institutions. PulseTech has scaled quickly, now serving more than 12,000 pharmacies and reaching 3.5 million people in Dhaka. While in Iterative’s accelerator, revenue jumped from US$1 million to US$13 million in just three months, underscoring strong product-market fit. With fresh capital, the company will launch its One Pharmacy franchise model to bring small, non-compliant pharmacies under a unified, compliant framework. Management also intends to expand into other South and Southeast Asian markets that face similar distribution and counterfeit-drug challenges. Ultimately, PulseTech aims to set a new standard for pharmaceutical distribution by combining logistics technology with embedded finance.
