PulseFlow Technologies
48 Windsor Avenue, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE4 5DT, England
Overview
PulseFlowDF is a wearable, non-invasive therapeutic device that combines pressure-redistributing footwear with intermittent plantar compression and a built-in patient compliance monitor to promote oxygen-rich blood flow around diabetic foot ulcers. The device is listed on the UK NHS Supply Chain catalogue and has received FDA approval to be marketed in the United States. The company earned approximately £1.75m in about 2015 via a Syndicate Room crowdfunding round led by major life-science investor Jim Mellon. Clinical evaluations by Richard Leigh at University College London Hospital have yielded positive results, and prominent podiatric surgeon David Armstrong has publicly supported the technology. CEO Les Lindsay personally funded early development, selling his house to support the venture, and the board is described as having strong clinical-to-business credentials. DBC is seeking US investors to provide working capital to scale its newly established US operations to meet anticipated demand for its limb-salvage therapy.
