PulseOn is developing a comprehensive multipurpose heart rate monitoring solution: a wrist device for sports and 24/7 use based on its proprietary optical heart measurement technology. The device measures heart rate for exercising, activity, recovery, stress, and sleep monitoring and is integrated with mobile apps. Founded in November 2012 and led by Managing Director Tero Mennander, the company is a spin-off from Nokia and currently has 13 employees. The company intends to use the funds to finalize productization of its optical heart rate monitor and to enter markets during the first half of 2014. Core development and productization remain the company’s near-term focus as it prepares for market launch.
