Punselie produces the well-known Punselie’s Stroopkoekjes, a caramel-filled cookie that has been a hallmark of the Gouda family business for generations. After a period of inactivity, the company set out to restart production and return its cookies to supermarkets, restaurants and airline catering. To finance this comeback, Punselie launched a public crowdfunding campaign that drew widespread consumer enthusiasm. The campaign reached €1,001,500 from more than 4,150 backers, providing the capital needed for a manufacturing reboot. Management will now move into the next phase of securing project financing and rebuilding operations.
