Pure Harvest
35 Lardner Rd, Drouin, Victoria, 3818, Australia
Overview
Pure Harvest develops controlled-environment agriculture (CEA) solutions—climate-controlled, tech-enabled greenhouses—to grow vine crops such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and strawberries in the UAE. The company plans to deploy a portfolio of CEA technologies including vertical farms and container-based growing solutions to deliver a wider variety of fresh produce. Its approach targets food-security gaps in the Gulf by reducing dependence on imports and preserving scarce freshwater aquifers. Pure Harvest expects to complete its first growing facility by mid next year and begin sales in the second half of 2018. The company aims to price its produce between costly imports and heavily subsidized local produce to win grocery-store buyers. Financially, Pure Harvest completed a $4.5M seed round following an earlier $1.1M pre-seed led by Shorooq in 2016.
