PureStream Trading Technologies is developing an alternative trading system (ATS) that reengineers price and liquidity discovery using open-ended liquidity transfer rates. Its market structure employs percentage rate-based order types to prioritize, match, and govern open-ended matches, and references continuous market trade reports from the consolidated tape rather than relying solely on the NBBO. The company says the ATS enables institutional portfolio implementations to execute up to 40x faster without price impact. PureStream has opened an ATS test facility for broker-dealers to begin integration ahead of a planned Q2 2021 launch, which is pending U.S. regulatory approval. The $14mm Series A will support development and the venue launch. Founded in 2018 and led by founder and CEO Armando Diaz, the company is promoting institutional-scale liquidity innovation.
