PureTech closed a $55m growth-stage investment from Invesco Perpetual and intends to use the funds to advance its existing pipeline and new healthcare-related products and technologies. In conjunction with the funding round the company appointed three new Senior Partners—Dr. H. Robert Horvitz, Joi Ito and Dr. Raju Kucherlapati—joining existing leadership including Dr. Langer, Dr. Ben Shapiro, Dr. John LaMattina and CEO Daphne Zohar. The company concentrates on a few major initiative areas at a time, moving promising academic research toward commercialization.
