Overview

Puridify is a London-based bioprocessing spin-out from University College London, formed in 2013 and led by CEO Dr Oliver Hardick. The company is developing FibroSelect, a platform purification technology for industrial biomolecule manufacture. FibroSelect was advanced during a collaborative research project between the Advanced Centre for Biochemical Engineering at UCL and the Science & Technology Facilities Council. The platform is positioned to support biologics manufacturers' interest in single-use systems and demand for smaller, more flexible facilities that can produce multiple products. Puridify closed a £2.2m Series A and has raised £8m in total to date including grant funding. The company intends to use the Series A proceeds to commercialize its platform. Puridify is a newly formed London-based company providing purification solutions for biotherapeutic manufacturing. Led by CEO Oliver Hardick, the company is developing proprietary nanofibre technology intended to improve the efficiency of purification in biopharmaceutical production. The platform was developed at the Advanced Centre for Biochemical Engineering at UCL and was licensed to Puridify by UCL Business in 2014. The technology aims to allow more drug product to be produced in a shorter amount of time and at lower cost. Puridify raised £850k in a funding round co-led by Imperial Innovations Group plc and S.R.One Ltd with participation from UCL Business PLC. In addition, it received matched-funding awards totalling £780k from the UK’s Technology Strategy Board and intends to use the funds to advance the technology.
