Push Doctor

10th floor, 3 Hardman Street, Spinningfields, Manchester, Greater Manchester, M3 3HF, United Kingdom

Overview

Push Doctor launched as a telemedicine service that enables users to book and receive consultations with qualified doctors via video call and has repositioned itself as a broader digital health platform. The app provides access to a network of thousands of GPs who also work in the U.K.’s National Health Service, can issue prescriptions, make doctor-led referrals to specialists, and help manage repeat prescriptions. CEO Eren Ozagir has emphasized the company’s data ambitions to build further digital health applications for both responsive care (long-term condition management and short-term illness) and proactive services (fitness and nutrition). The company faces competition from digital-health players including Babylon, Ada Health, and Your.MD. Push Doctor has used its consultations to gain an overview of health needs and trends to inform product expansion and new services. PushDoctor operates an on-demand video consultation service that connects patients to GMC-registered U.K. GPs for 10–30 minute appointments and aims to get users ‘seen’ within three minutes. The service draws on a network of roughly 7,000 partner GPs, all of whom must be actively employed in the NHS and are not employed by PushDoctor. PushDoctor sells pay-per-consultation access (no subscription) and has focused on a B2C model rather than working with insurers or employee benefit schemes. The product is popular with parents, parents-to-be, students away from their regular GP, and busy professionals who want faster access to care. The company argues its service can free up in-person NHS capacity and encourage earlier care-seeking. PushDoctor plans to use its new funding to develop the data side of its offering, improve integration with other healthcare providers, and significantly bolster marketing.
