Pushbullet provides software that forwards phone notifications and content to desktop computers and browsers. Originally a Chrome extension, it expanded to Firefox and Opera and supports Android and iOS, with a Windows client in beta. The company launched a dedicated Mac app and a Safari extension while adding iOS support. Core features include forwarding third-party app notifications without app modifications, per-app silencing, dismissing phone notifications from the computer, and sending links/files between devices. On iOS the app uses Bluetooth LE to ensure the user is near the computer before forwarding alerts. The company announced a $1.5M seed round backed by General Catalyst, SV Angel, Paul Bucheit, Alexis Ohanian, Garry Tan and other angel investors.
