3570 Carmel Mountain Road, San Diego, CA, 92130, United States
Overview
PvP Biologics is developing KumaMax, an oral enzyme designed to break down the immune-reactive parts of gluten in the stomach to prevent intestinal damage from accidental gluten ingestion. The technology was invented at the Institute for Protein Design at the University of Washington and is exclusively in-licensed by PvP. Under a development plan PvP will conduct all research and development through phase 1 proof-of-principle studies. Takeda will fund expenses related to that pre-defined development plan. The company has corporate offices in San Diego and research laboratories in Seattle. Leadership includes president and CEO Adam Simpson and chairman Tadataka “Tachi” Yamada, MD.
