Everest Edusys, founded in 2011 by Chokanath Hymavathy and Krishna Srinivasan, operates under the QED (Quest. Explore. Discover) brand to transform school science learning. Its offerings include mobile exhibits, state-of-the-art labs, active learning methodologies and science exhibit centers that serve as nodes for clusters of government schools. The venture works closely with teachers and schools to augment pedagogy and reports reaching over 20,000 children in more than 100 schools, including 20 government schools; founders also referenced impacts across 300 schools and gains in higher-order thinking skills. The fresh funding will be used to set up labs across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala and to bolster R&D of science educational tools. Everest aims to expand into newer towns and cities and provide access to science labs irrespective of students' family income.
