QED Protocol

Unit B, 6/F 178 Queen's Road Central Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong

Overview

QED Protocol builds a zk-native execution layer that brings zero-knowledge proof verification to Bitcoin, enabling native smart contracts and horizontally scalable Web3 applications. Its core technology uses fast-recursive ZKPs, a PARTH state model, and Taproot-compatible scripts to deliver high throughput and low latency. QED claims its approach can surpass 150,000 transactions per second while preserving Bitcoin-aligned security through compatibility with Bitcoin Core and proof-of-work. The platform is positioned to support applications from orderbook exchanges and DeFi to NFTs, games, and trustless Web2-scale apps. QED emphasizes avoiding fragile economic-incentive models and trusted multisigs used by some layer-2s. Financially, the company announced a $6 million funding round led by Blockchain Capital and previously raised a $3.25 million pre-seed, bringing disclosed fundraising to more than $10 million. QED is a zero-knowledge native blockchain protocol. It aims to combine the scalability of zero-knowledge proofs with Bitcoin's liquidity and security. The project's core technical innovation is integrating modular arithmetic into TapScript to enable decentralized applications to locally prove transactions. Its roadmap indicates plans to introduce a suite of zero-knowledge applications to the Bitcoin ecosystem in 2024. QED completed a $3 million financing led by Arrington Capital, with participation from StarkWare and Draper Dragon.
