Overview

QFX (Quantum Fabrix Ltd) develops precision quantum hardware that combines trapped ions with optical micro-cavities to create scalable, networked quantum computing architectures. Adopting a modular philosophy, the company aims to supply the core building blocks required for future trapped-ion and neutral-atom quantum systems across computing, sensing, and communications. The technology builds on world-leading research from the University of Oxford, including the development of a leading networked quantum computing demonstrator. Newly appointed CEO Dr Timothy Ballance and COO Sadie Mansell bring commercial experience from Infleqtion, complementing the founding scientific team led by CTO Dr Joe Goodwin, CSO Dr Laurent Stephenson, and CIO Dr Peter Drmota. The company intends to leverage its £2 million seed funding to expand engineering capacity, mature its hardware platform, and engage industrial and academic customers seeking robust quantum infrastructure. While revenue figures have not been disclosed, Goodwin’s group has previously demonstrated the world’s highest-performance networked trapped-ion system, positioning QFX at the forefront of next-generation quantum technology development.
