Qlab was founded as a faculty startup at Mokpo National University by Professor Lim Hankyu and has technology transferred from the university’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation. The company develops microbiome-based eco-friendly feed additives intended to boost health and growth efficiency of marine organisms. Qlab has engaged in university startup programs such as the MNU Faculty Startup Dream Project and the Jeonnam Center’s Pre-Startup Package as it built its technology and commercialization foundation. Its recent 200 million won direct investment from the Jeonnam Center will be used to accelerate R&D, develop and verify prototypes, and strengthen commercialization strategies. Qlab’s leadership states the company aims to achieve strong global competitiveness in the marine bio industry.
