QLIDA Diagnostics
3711 Market St, Philadelphia, PA, 19104, United States
Overview
QLIDA is developing a point-of-care mobile diagnostic device that uses a disposable pin-prick blood sample to detect cardiac biomarkers such as troponin and BNP, and was first developed to detect myeloperoxidase. The company says its test is more sensitive and cost-effective than others in development and can measure multiple biomarkers simultaneously to meet clinicians' needs. QLIDA's technology was developed by Elisabeth Papazoglou; Michael Boyce-Jacino is the company's CEO. The device is intended to improve triage, cut emergency-room wait times, and track near-term heart-attack risk. The firm plans to expand the platform to emerging biomarkers across cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer. QLIDA has received funding from the Coulter Foundation, Ben Franklin Partners of Southeast Pennsylvania and UK-based VC Net Scientific as it advances development.
