175 Federal Street Suite 1300, Boston, Massachusetts, 02110, United States
Overview
QPID Health develops a clinical intelligence solution that enables clinicians to access patient data in EHRs and other backend data repositories. Led by CEO Mike Doyle and based in Boston, the company reported 4,000 active clinical users in 2013, growing to nearly 5,000 clinician users in Q1 2014. Current customers include Massachusetts General and Brigham & Women’s Hospitals and other members of the Partners HealthCare system. The company raised $12.3m in a Series B round and intends to use the funds to expand adoption of its clinical intelligence solution among hospitals and healthcare systems in the U.S. The Series B will support commercialization and wider deployment across provider systems. QPID provides an intelligence system for EHRs that permits clinician-directed queries, real-time analytics and reporting to surface actionable patient information. The product extracts data entered into any EHR and presents it in an actionable format to improve clinician workflow, filtration and exception handling. QPID was developed within Massachusetts General Hospital and Partners HealthCare in Boston and after four years of R&D in that network is preparing commercial expansion. More than 5,000 health care professionals use QPID for over 7,000 daily patient encounters across 15 clinical departments at multiple Partners hospitals. The company says its platform saves clinicians time, improves decision‑making and delivers a demonstrable ROI that can improve patient safety. The recent funding will be used to hire talent to accelerate product innovation, expand marketing and sales, and drive strategic expansion into the commercial market.
