Quantec is a Hamilton, New Zealand company that discovers and commercializes high-value bioactives from natural products. It develops those bioactives into ingredients used in human and animal health products. The company markets an ingredient called IDP®. Quantec raised $500k in funding, split between private equity fund Central Capital Investments ($250k) and the Government’s New Zealand Venture Investment Fund ($250k). It intends to use the funds to grow global sales of IDP® and to test an IDP® formulation as a mastitis treatment in cows. Quantec was co-founded by Managing Director Dr Rod Claycomb and Senior Scientist Dr Judy Bragger.
