Quantiacs operates a marketplace-style platform that supplies data and infrastructure for quantitative trading algorithms and matches those algorithms with institutional capital. The company publishes live performance of algorithms on its website and is currently dogfooding the platform with the founders having invested $3.75 million of their own money across six algorithms. After 18 months in a closed beta the platform hosts more than 800 trading algorithms, many created by students using neural networks and other machine-learning approaches. Quantiacs plans to open the platform to external investors starting in May. Its commercial model charges no management fees, takes a 20% performance fee, and splits revenue from that fee 50/50 with the quant who wrote the strategy.
