Quantum Light is developing quantum dot–based pigments that emit light at specific wavelengths to enable fine control over color and light interaction. The company positions its technology as manipulating light itself rather than relying on traditional reflective pigments. It aims to apply its materials across coatings, plastics, and textiles and is working to validate and sample with commercial partners. Quantum Light has raised a total of $2.1 million in pre-seed funding following a $1.1 million extension. Management says the new capital will accelerate testing, sampling, and capacity expansion as the company scales its platform. CEO Olga Alexopoulou has stated the extension gives the company the ability to move faster toward commercialization.
